Dr. Ooi Guo Shen (Desmond)

Dr Desmond Ooi is a general surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore. His specialty is in vascular surgery. He also has special interests in varicose veins, diabetic foot disease, deep vein thrombosis, and aorta/carotid disease. He has more than 15 years of experience in vascular and general surgery. He is a former senior consultant at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH). There, Dr Ooi played an instrumental role in the set-up of the vascular department. He also held leadership positions where he was accountable for clinical safety and risk management. His team was awarded a Public Health Grant from the National Healthcare Group to streamline diabetic foot care, which led to the establishment of the diabetic foot service at KTPH.
